Carol-Lee ROBERTS Obituary

CAROL-LEE BURKE KNIGHT ROBERTS Born May 16, 1933, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Carol-Lee died on May 28, 2023, at her home in Toronto, Ontario, having just celebrated her 90th birthday in good health with her family. She will be forever missed by her daughter, Adair Roberts (Jared Landry); sister, Adair Knight; and her two most adored grandsons, Duncan and James Landry. She will also be missed by her three sisters-in-law, Agneta Knight, Joe-Anne Roberts, and Elaine Daoust (Greg), much extended family, and many treasured friends. Carol-Lee was predeceased by her brother, Burke Knight; her husband of 55 years, George Roberts; and their son, Bruce. Carol-Lee made and kept friends for a lifetime, but her best friend in life was George, whom she met in Grade 13 at Earl Haig CI. Luckily for their son and daughter, his decline of her invitation to a Sadie Hawkins dance did not deter her; she and George married at 21 and 22 years of age and were together until George's death in 2010. Carol-Lee loved her family and friends, parties of any kind, a great book, lilacs and hyacinths, and a clean house – but the thing she loved most of all was dessert. She didn't love skiing and hated playing bridge, but she did lots of both because she loved her friends who did. Carol-Lee faced many challenges, including severe post-partum depression before there were treatments for it. Her experience made her acutely sensitive to the mental health challenges of others, and there was no one better in a crisis; she always found the very best help for anyone who needed it. She will be deeply, deeply missed. Cremation has taken place. A get-together to celebrate Carol-Lee's life will be held on Tuesday June 13, 2023, from 1 – 4 p.m. (brief remarks at 2 p.m.) at Toronto Botanical Gardens' Garden Hall and Courtyard, 777 Lawrence Avenue East, Toronto. Much dessert will be served. In lieu of flowers, donations to Sound Times Support Services (https://soundtimes.com/donate-to-sound-times/) would be greatly appreciated.

I am so very sorry to hear of Carol-Lees passing. When I think of Carol-Lee, I can see my Mom (Irene Gibson) and Aunt (Alice Simpson) laughing at some practical joke or retelling of a funny story Carol-Lee had been involved in !! She was a lovely lady ! Thinking of you Adair, and your family, sending love Jennifer and Randy

I am so sorry- she and George used to just drop in to 336 Lytton from time to time. George was fairly close to my Dad & Carol Lee particularity liked my Mom.
I´m sorry I can´t be with you next week as Catherine is coming to open her cottage & I have volunteered to help.
It is always hard to say "goodbye"to your Mom.
Adair-My thoughts are with you & your family at this sad time in your life.
