I wish to offer Condolences to Jean Paul, Kit, Joan , Kate and the granddaughter I met with Carolin and Jean Paul in Vancouver pre Covid. I was lucky to make friends with Shossi at Uhill and since we lived close to each other we stayed friends through UBC. I was drawn to her brilliance, her humor, her enthusiasm. I remember cycling with her on UBC golf course at night, many trips to tower beach, once at UBC grad staying up all night and going to the beach for sunrise. Then after Shossi went to Laval, I went to McGill and loved wandering around Quebec city with her. I almost froze with her at winter carnival. Jean Paul and Caroline visited Randy and I in Vancouver in the late 60 s and we camped on the Sunshine Coast near Powell River.
She was my most loved old friend. She will be missed. May her memory be a blessing.

I had the opportunity to be hosted at the Centre on Governance by Caroline in 2012/2013 under my PhD research. I was really impressed by her personal characteristics, including her genuine interest in the people that crossed her life, her contagious laugh and warm smile. Regarding her approach to urban politics, I was very impressed by her activism and cross-cutting perspective, particularly how she always putted people at the centre of any discussion. She inspires me immensely for her generosity, kindness and committed feminism. My sincere condolences to her loved ones.

I feel extremely fortunate to have known Caroline as a colleague in two research projects where I could observe her attentiveness and intelligence as she contributed to shaping the work at hand. Her extensive work with the communities of Ottawa has also been a legacy that has impressed upon me the importance of making a difference in society. And in more informal settings, her boundless curiosity, kindness, and good humour was always present. She leaves a huge influence, both professionally and personally, as a role model of integrity, intelligence, generosity, and kindness. Thank you Caroline.
