CAROLINE WELTON Obituary
(1964 - 2026) Caroline, daughter of Joan and John Welton (deceased); sister to John (Sandy) and Daniel (Madeleine); mother to Rob (Veronika) and Fallon (Sara Liden); and grandmother to Robbie, Viktoria, and Frederick, has passed. After struggling for years with mental health issues, she finally succumbed to the weight they placed on her. Caroline "Missy" was a gregarious child, who gamely tried to keep up to her older brothers on the tennis courts and ski hills. She raced through her teenage years at Osler Bluff Ski Club and represented Canada at the World Juvenile Alpine Ski Racing Championships. She cherished heli-skiing at the Bugaboos and Cariboos with her father. Caroline shared her mother's flair for social interaction and was her partner in crime seeking out female activities in a male dominated household. Raised in Mississauga, she attended St. Francis, Erindale High School, and later, Bishop Strachan School. When her parents relocated to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, for several years in the '80s, Caroline accompanied them and attended Charleston College. Caroline was an avid reader of history, the Globe and Mail, the National Post, and Vogue. Caroline returned to Canda in the '90s and became immersed in the real estate world through her father, a prominent land developer. Caroline understood the connection between her father's skill set and her mother's skill set. She then worked as a top real estate and rental agent for many years, where she met her husband, Rob Burns. They shared Rob and Fallon before separating in the late '90s. She enjoyed many rounds of golf at Sea Pines and Mississauga GC with Rob, Fallon and Grampie. Many years later, Caroline suffered a horrendous ski accident at Mont Tremblant and was never able to recover from the downward spiral that commenced. Rest in Peace, Caroline. A celebration of life is being planned for in the Spring at the ORC. Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Welton Centre for Palliative and Hospice Care, which is now under construction.
