Carolyn SOUTER Obituary
CAROLYN SOUTER 1932 - 2018 Carolyn died peacefully at home on Monday, June 25, 2018. She was born in Hamilton and predeceased by her parents, Walter and Dorothy (Chisholm) Souter; and her siblings, Ruthanne (Richard) Cooke and Alastair (Monta) Souter. Carolyn graduated from Ontario College of Art in 1953. She enjoyed a creative career including work in Theatre and Set Design, teaching Textile Art and Interior Architectural Design. Carolyn lived in England and Spain in her bohemian youth however the many summers spent in Dwight with her family at Lake of Bays made it her most favourite place on earth. Carolyn was a long time supporter of social justice causes and was always keen to keep abreast of current affairs. Music, books and TVO gave her great company especially in her later years when her mobility was so limited. Carolyn is survived by seven nieces and nephews. A tree will be planted in a City of Toronto Park in memory of Carolyn. There will be no funeral at her request.
