A loving mother, super father, raising a fantastic family. Blessed to have known her. Forever in our hearts. I will never forget the London,UK lunch and visit. Gracious, classy, and encouraging.

Caryl: the only one I know who spelled her name that way! She was a very dear teaching colleague of mine a long time ago in Etobicoke: so vibrant and such good company. Is it any surprise to me that she was the family matriarch? ALS is a cruel disease, but I know that Caryl would have had the most loving care, getting what she gave. Please accept my sincere condolences.

Caryl and I met at Parkfield Junior School and saw each other once again at Humber Valley Junior Middle School. She was a wonderful teacher and a great colleague. I also knew her as the mother of three children whom she loved very much. It is difficult to say goodbye to someone like her. Please accept my condolences.

I met Caryl and her family in England while we were living there. I remember that special day when we were picking up children at Tasis and she was parked in front of me. She got out of the car and we met and I knew we would be friends. She had such a warm, friendly way that so many people loved. Eventhough I live in Massachusetts now and have not seen Caryl as much as I would have liked, I have always considered her a good friend. I am sorry that she suffered so with ALS. She was such an amazing woman and such a good person. Friends and family will surely miss her but heaven has a beautiful angel now. Lots of love to the Rutledge family.

Caryl and I met when we were both 4 years of age. Our early years living on Valecrest were magical. We were blessed with a ravine that provided us with endless entertainment, a field to build tunnel and forts, a hill for sledding and a place to ride our beloved bikes that was safe. Christmas carolling became a tradition with mugs of hot chocolate and mounds of whipped cream. We loved that time of year. Caryl and I would often speak about our childhood and how blessed we were to be in each other´s lives for 72 years. Pretty amazing to say the least. I will miss her so very much and all of the adventures we have had during our long friendship but especially the memories of, "two little girls and a street, our Valecrest". "Eee Ah Kee"
Love always, Nancy
