Peacefully, in her sleep, at home at Christie Gardens, on July 14, 2003. Born July 4, 1910 at Schagen, The Netherlands. Wife of the late Herman (Harry) A. Van Iterson; loving mother of G. Jan (John) Van Iterson (and Annette Rubin), Willem (Bill) Van Iterson (and Susan), and C. Anna H. Tina and Harry brought their young children to Canada, in 1950, from The Netherlands via Curacao. Tina and Harry were founding members of St. James United Church and took active roles in the congregation throughout their lives in Canada. For years, Tina led one of the largest CGIT groups in the country. In her late fifties, Tina resumed her career as a teacher, providing special education for children with learning disabilities and making good friends in the teaching community. As a widow, for thirty years, she was the much loved head of the Van Iterson family. She was ever active in her garden and her continuing personal education. Tina lived a rich life helping her family, friends and church. Tina will always be remembered for her kindness, creativity, optimism, and independent spirit.
