Charles BOWYER Obituary
BOWYER, Charles Blaine Q.C.
On September 24, 1998. Beloved husband of Aileen, and loving father of Stephen of Tucson, Arizona, and Suzanne of Seattle, Washington. Sadly missed by his daughter-in-law Karen Bowyer, son-in-law Michael Nible and grandchildren Stephanie and Douglas. Survived by his sisters Marilyn (Mrs. Ben Riggs) and Sheila (Mrs. Mervyn Burgard) of London, Ontario. Blaine practiced law for 35 years in Brampton, following in his father's footsteps, and was the retired Senior Partner of Bowyer, Greenslade and Hall. He had a keen interest in aviation, and obtained his private pilots license at the age of 40, standing first in his class. He was a Past President of the Brampton Flying Club, and served on their Board of Directors for many years. His connections in aviation led to an appointment on the Board of Trustees with the National Museum of Science and Technology in Ottawa, a position he was proud to hold. He was also a director with the National Aviation Museum Society until ill health forced his resignation. His hobby was photography, and he will be remembered for his travelogues, particularly during the summer at Bala United Church in Muskoka. Sincere thanks to Dr. David Borts and Dr. Leslie Laing for their compassionate care, and to many friends for their help and concern during Blaine's illness. A service to celebrate his life will take place on Monday, September 28th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's United Church, 30 Main St. South in Brampton. Arrangements by Ward Funeral Home, 52 Main St. South in Brampton. Visitation on Sunday from 1-4 p.m. Flowers gratefully declined. Please donate to the charity of your choice in Blaine's memory.
