Charles DEAN Obituary
August 28, 1930 - September 18, 2024 It is with heavy hearts yet fond memories that we announce the peaceful passing of Charles Walter Dean on September 18, 2024. Charlie leaves behind a legacy of love, embodied by his devoted wife of 68 years, Elizabeth "Bunty" Dean. His family, the pride and joy of his life, includes three sons: Stephen (Marie Christine Nadeau), Thomas (Lianne), James (Vonvisa); grandsons, Bradley (predeceased) and Nathan; and three great-granddaughters, Amaurie, Emilia and Natalie. Born and raised in Montreal, he transferred to Toronto in 1978, where he lived out the rest of his life. Charlie was preceded by his sister, Elizabeth; mother, Irene; and father, Walter. Charlie's professional life was marked by a four-decade long career at the Bank of Montreal. In his twilight years at The Village of Humber Heights retirement home, Charlie's love for Bunty shone brightly. During an afternoon activity, he touched hearts by casually mentioning that the best day of his life was his wedding day. Though dementia may have clouded some memories, it could never dim the light of what truly mattered to him, his family. Charlie will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humour and devotion. Special thanks to the team at the Humber Heights Retirement Home. Thank you for the care you provided for Charlie and the respect granted to Charlie's family. There will be a Private Ceremony for family members only. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made on Charlie's behalf to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or to the Bradley Dean Memorial Fund.
