WHEATON, Charles Frederick
Peacefully, after a short period of illness, at Toronto East General Hospital, on Thursday, August 12, 1999. Predeceased by his parents, Charles F. and Ida G. Wheaton; his beloved wife, Elizabeth Pearson Wheaton (nee Wilson); and his sister, Margaret Holmes Wheaton. Known as ;Chas., ;C.F. and ;Charlie to his friends, he led a long life of adventure and love of the outdoors. An accomplished motorsportsman in his youth, he is remembered as an avid road racer, a keen pilot with a distinguished record of domestic service in the R.C.A.F. during World War II, and a champion power boat racer in the golden age of Canadian motorboating. He will be especially missed by his community of friends on and around Lake Joseph in Muskoka, where he spent most of his 84 summers. His memory will live on at Shadowood.
