I sincerely express my condolences to Christine's family. Christine was doing a lot of good things to other people with her meaningful attitude to life and surrounding people, as well as strict personal requirements to herself. Gigantic physical obstacles in her body were only everyday challenges that couldn't stop her from loving life, care about other people and improve herself. Every step on the staircase of 16 total steps to my therapy room on the 2-nd floor was requiring great efforts fromher to feel as a winner standing on the higheststep like on Olympicpedestal, but this was only a one regular reward she was receiving often among many others, experiencing self-satisfaction of the achievement, forgettingpains, receiving respectful looks, energies and thoughts of people who knew her personally and strangers. Christine was an example of a charmingand joyful woman, fully realized her intellectual strengths and pushing challenging physical limitations aside to be with people and fully live her life. No doubt, that people who had the privilege of knowing her, have this treasure to improve themselves, their own lives and do something more for others. Surely not everyone can. She was unique, and now there is a hole in this part of life for people who knew, loved and respected her.

My condolences to Christine's family and friends!
I met Christine as a volunteer for Luminato Festival at the St Lawrence Centre for the Arts. I appreciated when she was very assertive in educating the theatre staff on saying instead of disabled guest/ patron, to say a patron/guest with a disability! I am saddened that so many businesses and arts organizations have become inaccessible to many! I hope that there is a memorial grocery store / restaurant / theatre/ cinema, etc. accessible to everyone created in Christine's memory!

From the moment I met Christine I was smitten. She was so kind, driven and collaborative. We worked together over the last 7 years at the Toronto Fringe and her legacy will long live on at the organisation and in my heart. I am so sad and I will miss her so much. She was a wise and guiding light and I send so much love to her family and friends. Thank you Christine, love to you always xxx

As a recent friend and neighbour here at Manulife, Christine and my partner Rick enjoyed frequent 'howdy doos' and hugs in our many common areas. We enjoyed hosting one another for seasonal cheers in December and held 'court' together at the lovely annual August Party hosted by the management of Manulife. Rick and Christine would often compare notes and work together to simplify and build skills as they managed their teaching responsibilities at Ryerson. Christine's love of images of winter birds on note cards inspired me to find the best examples out there . It turned out to be a bit of a competition between us ... I shall always remember how keenly interested and interesting Christine was and her smiling and knowing eyes accentuated this. I shall, as well, remember to repeat her mantra, " I can do this" when it is needed. Finally, we may all honour Christine's memory by acting in accordance with "WE can do this.' when collective actions and steps are required.
We continue to be enriched by the gift of you Christine.

Christine, though small in stature, was a big presence in this world! She was a tireless advocate for inclusion and her stories and warmth were an inspiration to myself and hundreds of employees at the Stratford Festival, as we worked to create a welcome culture for people with disabilities. I will miss our annual catch-up lunches and her funny stories! Her legacy will live on both at the Festival and in the many arts organizations she touched. "It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves" Adieu, Christine!

Christine worked in the Ontario Cabinet Office for me in the late 1980's. She did an excellent job and was a muse to us all. She always had a smile. We stayed in touch all those years and she visited me recently in Stratford when she was at the theatre. Condolences to her family. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Over 50 years ago I assisted Christine with a burdensome load on campus... the beginning of my "education". Christine's influence has pervaded my life (and by extension, my family's also) ever since. Christine was a small lady with a huge impact on all she touched. I shall cherish the last hug she gave me in January -- so genuine and heartfelt. Farewell my friend -- you are sorely missed.

Christine was one most beautiful and inspirational person I've ever met. I had the privilege of working with her at RBC for many years and she became a trusted collage and friend. I am so shocked to hear this news- We were great friends from our Quality Manager days at Royal Bank and remained close after our retirements. Christine was truly an Inspirational Leader and had always given back more to society than she would ever receive! We shall miss her continuous laugh and smile forever! I met Christine through Betty Hill, and we instantly liked each other and I had great respect for her. We had a mutual interest in the well being of Betty and she became my sounding board when there were major decisions to be made. She was so easy to talk to, very warm, caring and to the heart, yet practical and decisive. You will be very missed Christine. Our deepest condolences to the family.

I have lost such a treasured friend of almost fifty years with Christine’s passing. I learned so much from her life. She leaves me with such wonderful, wonderful memories. To Christine’s family, my deepest condolences. May her spirit continue to watch over us.
