Chris was such a lovely man. He had a loving relationship with my good friend of 70 years Christine. I miss you heaps.

I met Chris through his daughter, Sue - my dear friend since high school. Chris, or 'Mr Barnett', as I have called him these past forty years, was always warm, caring, genuinely interested in what his daughter & friend were up to and fun to be around.

Whenever I would see him over the years, it was always in a loving family setting - with Christine, his children or grandchildren. One fond memory I have is when he, Christine, Sue, Stewart and Christopher were able to join Jan and I for a Dutch meal in a restaurant in Amsterdam a few years back!

I was so very saddened to hear of his passing. Our thoughts are with you, Sue, Christine and all the family at this difficult time. He will be sorely missed.

I knew him as a child, neighbour and close family friend as I was growing up. I remember he was always a real pleasure to be around. What I remember most is his wry sense of humour and always smile on his face. I thought his moustache was great and I remember his love and appreciation for classic sports cars. From the perspective and memory of a child, he was really patient and engaged with young kids - I knew he was a good man even then.

I'm so sorry to hear about Christopher Barnett. He was always super nice and great to talk to when I knew him as a child. I know I hadn't seen him or spoken with him for a very long time but the loss still affects me.

We consider ourselves fortunate to have known Christopher for over 35 years and cherish the memories of those wonderful family trips to Niagara-on-the Lake with Christopher, Christine, Kate and our sons, Colin and Chris; many annual November open houses at Elizabeth Berry's home in the Beaches; delightful meals at his Grenview home over these many years, not to mention our final Christmas meal last December where Chris looked chipper and in good spirits for the illness he bore at the time. That's how we will remember him. Those memories will sustain us. Christoper was truly "the friend of a lifetime"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our hearts go out to Christine, Kate and all the family.

As Mike's sister-in-law, Chris always had a smile and a listening nod whenever I saw him at extended family gatherings. I know that, amoungst other loving roles he filled, he was a wonderful grandfather and he loved, supported and encouraged his grandchildren, thoughtfully planning to spend time with them together. He fostered a passion of fine cars in many of his offspring too! He will be greatly missed.

Tears flowed instantly when I learned of Chris death and my heart aches for Christine and his three children especially since in these times of social isolation, we cannot gather as we normally would to comfort them and honour him. Chris was my neighbour who became my friend for thirty years. He and Christine helped me in need and rejoiced with me in good times. My husband Peter and I loved spending an evening with them. Chris was the epitome of kindness and reliability. He was wise, insightful and fun to be with. He seemed forever youthful. Peter and our daughters Danielle and Devlynne join me in offering our deepest sympathy to all of the family. Chris is an unforgettable person in my life and I shall miss him until we meet again.

Chris was a true gentleman, a kind and thoughtful listener, always interested, and ready to share his wide knowledge and to give a helping hand. Chris had a deep love of his family with whom he and Christine spent numerous happy times. He will sadly missed by many friends and neighbours for his gentle sincerity and good humour. We were truly privileged to have had such a dear and true friend as Chris in our lives. Rest in peace. Ted and Pam.
