Claire MARSHALL Obituary

CLAIRE SECORD MARSHALL May 28, 1952 - April 2, 2021 We are deeply saddened by Claire's unexpected death resulting from cardiac arrest on Good Friday. Claire was the second daughter of the late John and Esther (Macdonald) Marshall of Ancaster, Ontario; sister and close friend to Ann (Glen Bell), Mary (Stephen, deceased 2018) Prime, and Janet (Alan) Walker. Claire graduated from Branksome Hall and Fanshawe College, settling in Toronto and working at Black's Photography. Family was the centre of Claire's life. She adored her nieces and nephews - Allison, Eric and Heather (Scott Sinclair) Prime; John Bell; Ross (Amm Laolee), Meghan and Colin Walker - and her grandnieces, Nalada Walker and Wynne Sinclair. Claire had an endearing way with children and quickly became the favourite aunt. Claire's passion was music. She was a devoted member of the Rosedale Presbyterian Church Choir and valued her friendships there. Her voice and piano lessons with her treasured teacher and friend, Brooke, were an anchor in her life. Her last lesson was on the afternoon of her death. Claire received great joy from taking pictures, becoming our family photographer and creating beautiful note cards. She loved her travels to the west and east coasts, especially Newfoundland, carefully planning her trips to coincide with iceberg season. We admired Claire's determination, self-discipline and independence. She will be remembered as kind and gentle, fun-loving and generous. Donations in Claire's memory may be made to Rosedale Presbyterian Church or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. A celebration of Claire's life will be held at a later date. "Sleep my child and peace attend thee, all through the night"

So deeply saddened to learn of Claire’s sudden passing. I will miss her kind, gentle Spirit.
Claire and I were roommates at Branksome, and shared many fun adventures together. Her precious laugh was unique, sincere.

We kept in touch after that and valued our time together, especially at Branksome Reunions.

Claire was a true friend, always interested in and caring about the people around her. She would do anything to help a friend.
She was a very creative artist & photographer; her custom Notecards were beautiful.
We shared some similar interests, & I was looking forward to more visits, Art & pure fun in the future.
I will always cherish Claire’s heart of Gold, her gentle Soul, and her love & friendship.

Claire will always smile from heaven on her 3 sisters, Ann and twins Mary & Janet, & their families. She loved her extended family

Rest In Peace, dear friend
Love,
Marg (Myrtle/Sparky)

My sincere condolences to Claire's family for your loss. As a next door neighbour, it was a pleasure to know Claire even though we had only made re-acquaintance on several occasions since childhood. I join my sister, Mary Jane (Collins), in thoughts and fond memories.

Dear Claire was a special childhood friend who lived next door to the Walkers and the Clokes on Jerseyville Road. Our three families shared all our childhood years in the winter on the backyard ice skating rink or in the warmer weather playing myriad running tag games. I remember Claire taking part in piano recitals and all of us girls anticipating time together eating popsicles and oreos while watching the latest TV shows in the Marshall's "playroom". Claire's happy giggle was indeed infectious. Truly caring for others, Claire will be remembered for her warmth and grace. Claire will be very much missed by so many who felt her constant love.
