Together, they immigrated to Canada, arriving in Quebec City on October 1, 1952, and soon settling in Weston, Ontario. There, they welcomed their first child, Doris Susanne Zobrist. In 1955, the family moved to Arvida, Quebec, where Monica Denise Zobrist, followed by Peter Reinhard Zobrist in Jonquiere, Quebec, were born. Claire was predeceased by her husband, Reini, earlier this year. She leaves behind a loving family: daughter, Doris Dixon; daughter, Monica Bennett and her husband, Mark; son, Peter Zobrist and his wife, Gloria. Cherished grandchildren include Allison Blanda and her husband, Sean; Matthew Bennett and his wife, Kirsten Benneter; Stephanie Zobrist and her husband, Jeff; and Nicholas Zobrist and his partner, Ayanna Boyce. Claire was blessed with three great-grandchildren: Quinn Blanda, Marceline Blanda, and Marshall Zobrist. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Claire found joy in family, cooking, and travel. She was an avid bridge player, golfer and dedicated volunteer, serving Hospital Auxiliaries in Bracebridge, Ontario, and Montreal, Quebec, where she held several positions of responsibility. Claire's warmth and sociability made her a cherished friend to many, wherever her travels took her. She loved hosting family gatherings and delighted in singing her grandchildren to sleep - moments her family will always treasure. Claire's legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit of hospitality, kindness, and love remains an enduring inspiration to all who knew her.
