Colin BERNHARDT Obituary



BERNHARDT, Colin

70 - of Wolfville, Nova Scotia. Born in Calgary, Alberta, he was the son of Henry and Emma (Philipp) Bassen, He is survived by his partner of 46 years, Michael Bawtree, and by his twin brother Herbert: his elder brother, Hank, died in 2009. Colin acted at the Stratford Festival for four seasons, and went on to become a much loved teacher of speech and acting all over the world. He taught at the Banff Centre every year since 1979, and from 1986 to 2006 was a professor in Theatre Studies at Acadia University. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Serenity Lindsay Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Wolfville. There will be a private ceremony of farewell and interment, but a public Celebration of his life and work will be held at a later date.
