Craig MCDONALD Obituary

December 28, 1971 - September 12, 2024 It is with profound sadness and unfathomable agony that we announce the sudden and untimely passing of Craig McDonald at the age of 52. Craig was the devoted and beloved son of Lachlan and Margaret McDonald of Brampton (Scotland), cherished husband of Elif, and proud father of Aydin. He will be sorely missed by many friends, colleagues and extended family. Craig was a good, kind and strong man, always willing to help others, a man who truly cared about his community. Craig was a proud Canadian. Craig was born in North York and raised in a sunny home with a big garden in Brampton. After Mayfield Secondary School, he graduated from the University of Ottawa. His career in finance soon took off and he thoroughly enjoyed his time working with some of the brightest and best in the Canadian Financial Sector. He did this all while raising his family and caring for his beloved parents. A great hockey dad, he could be found at the rink multiple times a week cheering on Aydin. He was loved and toasted by his wife's extended family, who honored him as the most favourite and handsome son-in-law. He travelled across Canada and the US for work and made friends wherever he went. He took his final breath as the summer sun was setting, and we like to think he caught the last rays of sunshine to a better place, to God's Kingdom in Heaven. Finally free of the prostate cancer that quickly and wickedly took an honorable, decent man, all too soon. Friends and family may call at Meadowvale Cemetery & Funeral Centre, 7732 Mavis Rd., Brampton (north of Hwy. 407 and south of Steeles Ave., 905-451-3716), on Monday, September 23rd, for visitation from 1-2 p.m., with funeral service at 2 p.m. Interment to follow. Condolences, photographs and memories may be forwarded through mountpleasantgroup.permavita.com/site/CraigMcDonald.html.

On behalf of Craig's parents, Aydin and I thank everyone for their kind words, messages and calls, with nearly 34,500 of them, we were truly touched, and overwhelmed. Craig was a good, kind man taken all too soon by a wicked cancer. We cherish every memory we had with him and ask for God's grace as we journey through this fog of unfathomable grief and heartbreak. He was loved dearly.
