Nov 2022 Thinking about high school and whatever happened to my good friend David. After googling his name I was shocked to find he is gone far too early. He was such a kind man. Only wish we had reconnected earlier. I am happy to hear that he found love and family. My deepest condolences to you.

David and I spent a lot of time together in High School and University. Late night studying at A & W or at my folks house, drinking copious amounts of coffee as we crammed for tests. We, along with our group of friends had a lot of laughs going to the local watering holes. Dave taught me how to drive standard transmission in his Ford Mustang and he travelled with our family to Hawaii. We met up at a mutual friends Funeral five years ago, and even though we hadn't seen each other in years, we just picked up where we left off. This is a life gone too soon. I only wish I had more time to reminisce about the old days with Dave. Condolences to his family and friends. Rob Braun

To the family and friends of David: I am very sorry to hear about your loss. I depended on him for his take on daily business news (CBC Raio 1 Vancouver). More importantly, I appreciated his humour and humanity. I will miss him.

I enjoyed listening to his business report on London, Ontario CBC. and missed hearing him lately. He had such a calm voice . I feel very sad at his passing at such a young age

I set my alarm for 7:25 every morning so that I could hear David give the business report on CBC Vancouver's Early Edition. In part, I wanted to learn about what was going on in the business world and knew that David could always provide me with some insight. In large measure too, though, I just liked to hear his voice; it always conveyed his delightful sense of humour, his curiosity, and most of all, his warm humanity. My deepest sympathy goes out to all his loved ones for this great loss. He was a treasure.

We all like to think we have more time than we actually have. Sure, David had even less, but it seems he had a very good life, albeit shorter, and that is a very good thing. CONDOLENCES to the friends and family. Now we know its later than we think.

Dear Mathieu, Mark and John,
We are so saddened by this news. We have shared many great NDG hockey memories and it was always a treat to bump into David in the hood. He was always so warm and friendly and he will be missed. We are thinking of you and your family during this difficult time. May his memory be a blessing.

As a faithful CBC listener, I have missed David's voice for the past litle while and wondered when I would have the great pleasure of hearing him keep us up-to-date on the financial and business world and then intersperse this with a story of his boys and the time he enjoyed with them. I was shocked and saddened to hear his passing announced this morning. My heart goes out to you, his family and all his friends. Though he was taken much too soon, seeing him in my memories brings a smile to my face. David was one of the good ones, sharp, perceptive, and an excellent journalist who was a pleasure to work with. We'd have lively, wide-ranging and informative conversations in the RCI newsroom . He was open and genuinely liked people. Not only that, he had a wicked sense of humour and was a lot of fun at parties. May he be welcomed with open arms in the great beyond.
