David James Bowie passed away peacefully at Brightshores Meaford Hospital, on June 2, 2025, in his 85th year. David was born in Galt, Ontario, to parents Don and Audrey Bowie. Survived by brothers, Alan, of Colorado Springs, and Bruce, of Cambridge, New Zealand. David will be missed by his son, David (Rebecca Wright), of Whistler, BC, and their children, Riley and Jacob; and Andrew (Valerie Smith), of Duncan, Ontario, and his son, Joah. David was Past Master of Ayr Masonic Lodge, Past 1st Principal Royal Arch Masons, and 32 degree Scottish Rite. David had an adventurous spirit which took him on many excursions around the globe and across the country. Most notably, his year 2000 Millennium Tour, when he explored his way across Canada from coast to coast on his motorcycle. David was always deeply involved in the arts, playing his clarinet in a number of bands and orchestras, often under his pseudonym, Raymi Lahtido. He explored numerous visual arts, excelling in palette knife painting, sometimes introducing himself to people as "the Almost famous artist David Bowie," enjoying sharing the same name as the late musician. Many thanks to the staff at Errinrung retirement home and Meaford Hospital for the exceptional care in his later years. Private family arrangements at this time.
