David DUECK Obituary

It is with great sorrow, that we announce the passing of Mr. David Lee Dueck. David, a great son, husband, father, family man, business partner and friend to many, passed away suddenly and far too early on April 1, 2024 due to heart failure. David was 59. David's passing will be mourned by his mother, Sherry, who was a loving mother; grandmother and a great friend of David's. David will be deeply missed by Angela Dueck, and their children; daughter Georgia (and her soon to be husband Geo?); son James (wife Zeenah), their wonderful twin daughters Demi and Lucy. David is predeceased by his father, David Curtis Dueck. David was born on November 17, 1964, in Vancouver, British Columbia. He attended high school at Ridley College in St. Catharines, Ontario, and Neuchatel Junior College in Switzerland before attending and graduating in business from Simon Fraser University, in BC. David was a lover of life, making the most of each and every day. He loved to travel with his family exploring different countries, and cultures. He was a lover of fast cars, the great outdoors and keeping fit and was often seen riding his bike throughout the Vancouver mainland. David was introspective and thoughtful, but also highly social, well liked, and possessed a great wit. He had many good friends in life, but a few in particular who have spent much time with him over the past forty years. He will be dearly missed. David, like his father and grandfather before him, was a true entrepreneur. He was passionate about innovation, and forever looking forward. As a third-generation family of entrepreneurs, David not only helped manage various Dueck family business ventures over the years, he also identified, supported and/or started many other new business ventures of his own. David, like the Dueck men before him, was driven by business, but always placed family above all else. He adored his family and was deeply involved in their lives and helping to guide and prepare them for life. He was very proud of their accomplishments and the people they had become. He was very much looking forward to the marriage celebrations of both Georgia and James this coming summer. They know their father will be with them this summer in spirit, and with all of his children, now and forever, as they create families of their own. A celebration of life will be announced and held at a later date. I met David through my husband Peter in the summer of 1980. We were in desolation sound boating. We spent a few weeks doing what teenagers do, sailing, swimming etc. As we entered out 20´s we spent time together my fondest memories are of Expo 86. David always had fun regardless of the occasion. He was kind, friendly and full of life. To his children and Angie Peter and I offer our sincerest condolences.

Was very saddened to learn of David's passing. Far too young.
We shared many good times and David introduced me to my husband Simon Kelly. Simon passed in 2011 so they are together again. ( Would love to witness that reunion)
To Angie and their children my deepest condolences. Keep close to each other now. Love for David lives on...

Dave was a part of a small cluster of very close friends who shared a lot of great memories throughout our lives. I am grateful to have those to carry me forward after such a sudden and heavy loss. Dave and I were close and best buddies would not be an overstatement. But my loss can´t compare to the loss that his family, the dearest loves in his life must be feeling. My deepest condolences to you.
With profound sympathy
Mike
