January 6, 1940 - January 2, 2025 Peacefully, at age 84. Predeceased by his darling wife of 60 years, Clara (Kay). Cherished father of Lynne George (Barry), Lisa Bowditch (Scott) and Mark George (Tania). Adored grandpa of Jessica (Peter), Tyler (Emily), Tanner (Alyssa), Madison, Troy, Mason, Mikayla and Connor. Predeceased by sister, Patricia Birchall; and parents, Stella and Reuben George. David was born in Corner Brook, NL. He attended Ryerson, graduating as a Certified Engineering Technologist. He went on to earn an MBA at the University of Toronto. David was President of Imagineering Ltd., and was instrumental in the design and launch of the Global TV Network. He had a long and storied career in broadcast and served as President of The Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) in the nineties. David was an avid Ham Radio Operator, a private pilot and a passionate sailor, but most importantly, he was kind and loving. David will be missed by his brother-in-law, Maxwell Cater (Mavis); his cousin, Edda-Lou Burry; and many nieces and nephews across Canada.
