DAVID GRAHAM Obituary

October 14, 1949 - January 1, 2025 It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of David, at Providence Care Hospital in Kingston, after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 75. David leaves behind his wife, Karen; sons, Ted (predeceased) Michael (Justine) and Matthew (Kristina); his cherished grandchildren, Madelyn, Harrison, Ross, Rory and Robert; siblings, Peter (predeceased), Denis (predeceased), Virgina, Andrew (predeceased), and Tom. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Born in Montreal, David moved to Toronto to work in the broadcast industry. He spent his career working in national radio advertising sales. He was passionate about the business and was a great mentor. Upon retirement, he couldn't wait to spend all his time in The County on the farm he loved. An extraordinary chef and lover of red wine, David knew how to enjoy life with family and friends. David was an avid reader and spent many cold winter afternoons with a good book or two by his side. He loved both fiction and nonfiction, but had a great appreciation for a good mystery. Always known for his sense of humour. He loved to laugh and to make others laugh, a trait he passed on to his children and grandchildren, a constant reminder of the impression he left on us all. He had a knack for remembering every joke ever told and maintained his sense of humour until the very end. A Celebration of Life will be held at Wellings of Picton, 15 Wellings Dr., Picton, ON K0K 2T0, on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 1 p.m. If desired, donations can be made to Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation. Cremation arrangements are under the care and direction of Rushnell Funeral Home, 60 Division Street, Trenton (613-392-2111). Mike and I will always remember the day you invited us to dinner on an extremely hot evening. Because you didn´t have AC back then we sat out in the backyard. Our first course was a piping hot bowl of home made soup. This became a lasting giggle point over the years and was referred to often making us all chuckle. Then there was the time when you lived next door and we had a side by side driveway. One year while we were away there was lots of snow. You shovelled all the snow to our side thinking it would long be melted before our return. It wasn´t! Poor you David now had to shovel all that snow from our driveway.
Mike and I will miss you terribly. You were a wonderful friend for over 40 years. And you always had a joke to tell.

David was a treasured colleague, friend and partner at Major Market Broadcasters. Not only was he a great guy and a great salesperson but was also one of the funniest people we ever knew. Our condolences to Karen and the family. Rest in peace old friend.

Dear Karen and Family, I had the pleasure of working with Dave as a junior media buyer of radio, many years ago. Then, as chance would have it, I worked with Karen when she called on my agency and then, as a colleague. I dropped in to visit the Grahams a few times in the county where their home was always so welcoming. Please know that I am thinking of you at this difficult time. Sincerely, Kathy Saunders
