To David´s Family;
I got to know David when I was CEO of the London Middlesex Alzheimer Society. He brought his wife Jan to many of the programs as her caregiver and devoted husband. David became a dedicated volunteer utilizing his creative gifts in assisting with videos and other communications. Over the years, we became friends and continued to see each other socially even after he moved back to Toronto. My husband and I enjoyed his sense of humour and dry wit. David was so proud of all of you including his grandchildren.
When you have set the date and place for the Celebration of Life I would very much appreciate knowing the details.
Sincerely,
Betsy

Megan, Alexis and Jason, my sincere condolences on the loss of your father.
In the short time I had know David he made a significant impact upon my life. As a former broadcaster and then communications guy with the Alzheimer Society London and Middlesex, I worked with David in the production of a video for the Society that featured Jan. He was always making sure through example and direction that Jan and other people living with dementia were portrayed in a dignified and caring way. He was such a kind, generous and compassionate man. We developed a friendship as a result of that production and we'd have the occasional lunch at the Waltzing Weasel until his move back to Toronto. Even after that move when I'd call him to check in he would, of course, drop a pun or a bad joke or two, but he would always make sure to tell me to say hi to my wife whom he had met just once before (I brought her along during the filming of the video to sit with Jan when I interviewed David separately). He has touched so many people over the course of a life well lived. And now he is back in the arms of Jan (and probably scratching the ears of a bulldog at the same time). He will be missed by many. Rest in peace, David.
