DAVID HOGG Obituary

(1940 - 2026) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Calvert Hogg. Loving husband of 59 years to Beverley; father to Stuart and Gillian (Kyle); grandpa to Mackenzie and Mia; brother-in-law to Carolyn (Frank); brother to Carol; uncle to John (Sharon), David (Katie), and sadly predeceased by his niece, Mary (Sam). David began life as a hardworking Ontario farm kid. This strong work ethic combined with his University of Waterloo education as an electrical engineer set him up for enormous success within the lean manufacturing sector. His motto was "results through people." For over 25 years, he authored a newsletter designed to connect and support collaboration in the manufacturing industry. With his business partner, Bob Kerr, he founded HPS Inc to establish consortia within North America and Australia to foster continuous improvement. He has been widely recognized for his contributions and was the honoured recipient of the 2012 Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, 2015 AME Mac McCulloch Lifetime Achievement Award and 2018 Manitoba CME Lifetime Achievement Award. Dave spent his last decade living close to family and enjoying beautiful Penticton, BC. He loved walking along the lakeshore with Bev looking for deer and marmots and enjoying coffee with family. He was a keen participant at his weekly men's coffee group and loved to attend Frank's live music performances. He never lost his love of hockey and attended many Penticton Vees games with his son and daughter. He was a loyal Blue Jays fan and loved cheering them on with his son. He was an enthusiastic supporter of his granddaughters' school, dance and sport activities. He was profoundly loved and will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank Dr. Taguchi, the 5th floor staff of Penticton Regional Hospital and the staff of Dr. Andrew Pavilion for their excellent care. No formal service as requested.
