David JARVIS Obituary

DAVID GORDON JARVIS It is with great sadness that we announce David's passing at home on November 15, 2021 at the age of 67 years. David is survived by his wife, Alison; his sons, Tom, Jake (Holly) and Alex (Nicole); his stepdaughters, Becky, Megan and Abbie; brothers, Greg (Jennifer) and Ian (Sabine); and father, Gordon. David is predeceased by his mother, Marybeth Reeve. He is mourned by his many nieces and nephews, in-laws, cousins, friends and business associates. David attended Ridley College, Don Mills Collegiate and The University of Western Ontario where he developed lifelong friendships. He established a successful career spanning approximately 45 years in the financial investment community. Childhood summers spent at Grand Bend with cousins and family friends were always a topic of conversations at family reunions. David enjoyed travelling with Alison to Europe and East Asia; skiing and hiking in Aspen; and relaxing and golfing in the Dominican Republic. First and foremost, David was a family man who took great delight and pride in his sons and stepdaughters. Amidst his professional life and social interests, he devoted himself to his family and their wellbeing. He was most content when surrounded by them, wherever that happened to be. David and Alison loved to entertain family and friends in their Toronto home. David was always the life of any party. David possessed a unique ability to deliver thoughtful opinions about world politics or the economy; as well as entertain an audience with quips containing a wicked sense of humour. David will be truly missed! David's kindness, enthusiasm and thoughtfulness left a mark on many. His spirit will be carried on by those whose lives he touched. The family will receive friends at the Humphrey Funeral Home A.W. Miles - Newbigging Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville) on Saturday, November 20th from 12:00 p.m. followed by a service in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. The service will be live-streamed at https://ipickart.com/stream/Jarvis. A private interment, for family only, will be held in the family plot at Woodlands Cemetery, London, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, a donation in David's memory may be directed to your local Food Bank. David would appreciate your thoughtful gesture. Condolences may be forwarded through www.humphreymiles.com.

This is very sad news. Dave and I traded with/against each other for many years - always with his smile and a quick riposte if needed. Hopefully you´re now at a place where the market always moves your way. RIP.

Dave always held a special place in my heart ... holding memories of the distant echo of childhood laughter muffled by Lake Huron´s waves and unending summer days.

May the wind always be at your back and the sun upon your face, and the winds of destiny carry you to the shores of Fair Oaks to dance in the sunsets.

Dearest Alison, David lit up with love whenever he looked at you. He glowed with his love for you and for his family. He was a kind and generous friend, an intelligent gentleman with a sharp wit, friendly and welcoming. Sending you my deepest condolences. Sincerely, Camille

I had the pleasure of working on Bay Street with DJ. Always passionate about the market and upbeat on a daily basis. That’s hard to find. He always possessed the ability to mentor young people in the business which I tried to emulate.
