DAVID KENNEDY Obituary
(1955 – 2025) After a difficult but determined four-year battle with prostate cancer, Dave passed away peacefully on November 26, 2025, in the company of Marsha (n. Holmes), his loving wife of over 40 years. Dave and Marsha, proud parents of daughter Lisa Kennedy and spouse Stanko Pavlovic, and kids Emma, Nicholas, and Daniel of Toronto; and son Christopher and spouse Nicole Kennedy, (n. Ennamorato), and kids Peyton, Riley and Isla of Glen Williams. Dave became "Grandude" after the birth of Emma in 2017. Dave grew up in Scarborough, graduating from RH King Collegiate in 1974. Entering University of Toronto, he graduated in Economics and became a Chartered Accountant. Dave worked in professional services for over 35 years as a Senior Partner and Managing Director specializing in M&A advisory work, with a long and enjoyable stint in Calgary before returning to Toronto to finish out a successful career. Throughout his life, Dave remained engaged with many interests outside work, including guitar playing, golf, fast cars, cottage life and downhill skiing. Dave was a director and ultimately president of Summit Golf Club (Richmond Hill), Priddis Greens Golf Club (Bragg Creek AB) and Big Brothers of Metro Toronto. He was a committed volunteer for the United Way, and volunteer board member for Dixon Hall Toronto. Predeceased by parents Maurice and Colombe (n. Sauve) Kennedy ('Moe and Connie); and brother Robert Kennedy; and survived by nieces and nephews Cynthia, Richards and Margaret Hastings-James, Ryan, Connor and Gregory Finucan and Paris Holmes. Known for his sense of humor and booming "FM Radio" voice, Dave always made work and family activities fun. As captain of the family boat fleet over many years, kids learned to ski and wakeboard at family cottages on Kushog Lake and Lake of Bays. Most recently members at Bigwin Island Golf Club (Muskoka) and Pelican Marsh Golf Club (Naples, FL), Dave and Marsha enjoyed many rounds of golf and friendships in retirement. Dave wanted to express a fond farewell to his many friends from time growing up in Scarborough, especially musicians in early (and loud) bands, associates from KPMG Calgary and Toronto, all relatives and friends from the music world, golf community, cottage life and Florida. "I may not be the smartest, but I am the loudest! Usually works." – DRK A Celebration of Life will be held at Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre - 375 Mount Pleasant Road, Toronto, on Tuesday, December 16th. Visitation at 11 a.m. with Service in our Chapel at 11:30 a.m., with a Gathering to follow.
