DAVID MURRAY Obituary
Professor David James Murray passed away peacefully on March 22, 2026 at age 88. Born in Manchester, UK, he was predeceased by his parents Ellen and William Murray, and his brother Keith (Sylvia). He is survived by his brother Colin and children Keir (Kathleen Murray) and Rachel (David Breau), and grandchildren Rachel and Ansley Murray, and Colin and Morgan Breau. An esteemed academic, author and poet, David earned his Ph. D in Psychology from Cambridge University in 1964 and taught at Queen's University. He was a prolific researcher and author, publishing over 30 scholarly works including books on the history of psychology and human memory. David's love of music came through his patronage of opera and ballet and was an amateur pianist. Described as a kind gentleman, David will be dearly missed. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 11 at 2 pm at Heritage Funeral Centre, 50 Overlea Blvd, Toronto, Ontario. Donations may be made to the National Ballet of Canada.
