It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Alexander Wilson Niblett on August 22, 2025, in Hamilton, Ontario, just two days after his 68th birthday. David attended Ridley College and Western University before building a long and fulfilling career at BMO Nesbitt Burns, where he forged many lasting friendships and achieved many professional milestones. From an early age, David was incredibly athletic. His love of sport carried him through every stage of life, from football and swimming during his school years, to sailing, kiteboarding, and cycling in Muskoka, and skiing and snowboarding in Collingwood. Wherever he was, David was always seeking the next challenge and adventure. An active member of both the Collingwood and Muskoka communities, David will be deeply missed by his friends and fellow members of Georgian Peaks and the Muskoka Lakes Golf and Country Club. David will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Ashley and her husband Craig, and his treasured grandchildren, Audrey and Brody; his son Trevor and his partner Katie; and his devoted partner, Lynn Lech, together with her children Stuart (Shavonne) and Kirsten (Colin). He is also survived by his siblings Jodi, Stephen, and Rob; their father George and of course, his four-legged companion, Summer, who was always by his side. A funeral service will be held at the Humphrey Funeral Home A.W. Miles – Newbigging Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville), Toronto on Thursday, August 28th at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation in David's memory can be made to the
Charity of Your Choice or to the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society (
ontariospca.ca). He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his adventurous spirit, witty humour, and unwavering tenacity will be forever remembered. May he now be sailing away in his beloved Albacore, carried by the wind toward his next great journey. Condolences may be forwarded through
