Peacefully, surrounded by her family and close friends at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre on March 25, 2011. Beloved wife of Robert for 40 years. Loving mother of Michael (Valerie), James, and Andrew (Jenny). Adored Grandee of Teya and Evan. Cherished daughter of Regina Myhal and the late Michael. Much loved sister of Stephen Myhal (Cathy) and the late Patricia Myhal. Dear sister-in-law of Graham Midmer (Tricia).
Associate Professor and Research Scholar, Department of Family & Community Medicine (U of Toronto); co-founder and Executive Director of ALPHA, Project CREATE, and PRIMA; Lamaze instructor certifier, Registered Nurse, founder of Mt. Sinai Hospital Prenatal and Family Life Education Program; family therapist. Friends describe Deana fondly as an authentic, intelligent, caring, courageous, strong and capable human being. 'Let me simply say that when I first met her I wished she had always been my friend.'
