Dennis S. DESKIN

DENNIS S. DESKIN Deskin, Dennis Spencer, at the age of 88, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2021 in Perth, Ontario. Beloved husband of 30 years and best friend of Nijole (nee Kazlauskas), loving father and father-in-law of Andrea (Marius), Martin (Katarina), Adam, Meghan (Etienne), Amy (Aman) and Melanie (Stefan); grandfather 'Papa' to fourteen (14) grandchildren, the pride of his life; Ben (Susan), Tessa (Devin), Diego, Andreas, Alyssa, Brooke, Sophia, Anna, Imran, Jannah, Zayd, Hafsa, Jacob, Aya; great-grandfather to Noah, Isaac, Mecca, Jannah, Rowan; dear brother of Eric (Claudia) and Carole (Herbie), brother- in-law of Marija (Randy), the late Algimontas 'Joey' and son-in-law of Peter Kazlauskas. Dennis leaves to mourn Uncle Archie Deskin, cousins, nieces and nephews and many devoted friends in Ottawa. Dennis grew up in Montreal, graduated McGill University (1959) and practiced Architecture world-wide, moving to Ottawa in 1993 to continue his career with the Directorate of Architecture, Department of National Defence followed by Public Works/Government Services Canada. Dennis was a member of the RAIC, Ann Manor Condo community and Friends of the National Arts Centre Orchestra with which he shared his passion for music. Dennis was the quintessential gentleman, kind, generous, intelligent, resilient who faced the gradual loss of his eyesight with grace, determined to embrace and to enjoy life with family and friends. We shall miss him greatly. A Celebration of Life and interment is planned in Ottawa on May 21st at Beechwood Cemetery, Canada's National Cemetery.
