Derek HOGG Obituary

THE HONOURABLE JUSTICE DEREK THIRSK HOGG Peacefully at his home on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, his longtime partner and best friend, Heather Munro at his side. Beloved son of the late William Hogg, Ena Thirsk and Blanche Tancock. Derek was a loving and supportive father to his son Colin, and his wife Joanne and his daughter Kathleen and her husband Luke Brady. He will be greatly missed by his two granddaughters, Sarah and Jessica Brady, whom he loved and adored. He will be remembered fondly by his nieces Gillian Pope and Melanie Ridgely and his great-nephews Elliot and Reilly Pope and Cameron Ridgely. He was a very special friend to Cas Harold and Audrey.He will be deeply missed by Corinna, Geralyn, Elsa and Monica who took exceptional care of Derek. Derek enjoyed a wonderful and fulfilling life in the company of close family and many loyal friends. Derek was known for his compassion, generosity and zest for life as well as his passion for 50's music, The Toronto Blue Jays and travel. Friends may call at Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor Street West, Toronto, on Tuesday, May 16th. Visitation will take place from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Donations may be made to The Dorothy Ley Hospice, Etobicoke. I'll do my part, I'll try my best I'll give my heart, I'll take no rest Time will tell if I left my mark But I'll know full well I did my part

Just learned of the passing of my friend, Derek, whom I was in grades two through eight at Mountsfield PS in London, ON. I last saw Derek at an MPS Reunion in 2011 in London. To Derek´s family, please accept my sincere condolences.
