Neither time nor death has diminished my fond memories of my Aunt Diana. My condolences to my first cousins Jim and Margie. Your mother was an exceptional women. Unlike most women of her time she went to and graduated from Queen's University at a time when it was on the verge of becoming a great international university. Unlike most women of her time she worked outside of the home which was uncommon in the 1960's. I remember the family trips to Kingston to see our Grandmother Allan with a stop in at Smith Falls to visit her brother Timothy who suffered all his days with cerebral palsy. Instead of forgetting about him she and your deceased mother looked out for him. Her father died when she was young leaving her family in a precarious financial state just after the Great Depression (before socialized medicine Doctors made very little money).
The ranks of the Canadian branch of the Allan family are whittled away now and just one member of her husband Duncan Allan's family is left with the quick. It is the way of things but her spirit and enthusiasm along with her immense intellect remain constant with her children and grandchildren. May the Great Spirit help her soul to fly home.

We offer our deepest sympathy to Maggie, Dave, Meredith, Elizabeth, Audrey and the extended Allan & Williams family on the sad loss of a wonderful mum and nana. Diana left a lasting impression on us when we met her just the once in Italy last year. We were very privileged to have had that opportunity.
May her kind and gentle soul Rest In Eternal Peace.
Much Love, Iggy, Claire & the Greaney family, Galway, Ireland.

As one of the original RPC campers and share holders she will be well remembered. Her love of her family was always evident as was her love of the special beauty of camp itself. I fondly remember conversations with her by the craft hut. Bless her soul. Hugs to all the Williams and Allans

I am saddened to hear of Diana's death. Seems like only yesterday we were exchanging new about our families. I met Diana and Duncan over fifty years ago at Red Pine Camp. In that time we shared many happy times and a few sad ones. How can one condense 50 year of knowing? Diana was a fierce defender of the proper use of the English language. She was a voracious reader and could add to any discussion , be it the topics of the day, religion or politics. She was a fierce paddle tennis player, but seldom played. She was rightfully a proud mother and grandmother. I am sure had she lived, the same love would be showered on her greats.
One of the most treasured times we shared is in the telling below.
Diana brought Dunc's ashes to RPC as it was his wish to be returned to the earth there. Diana asked me to honor this request with her. I went to her cabin where we fortified ourselves with a scotch or two. We walked to all his favorite places, leaving a little bit of Dunc behind. Then to her cabin for another scotch or two, maybe three. Diana was a good sister to her brother. To her friends, she was loyal. To her students she was accessible. She was a caring and decent human being. Her legacy lives on in her family.
May your grief reflect your love. Diana lived a good and long life. I shall miss her.
Sorry I will not be able to attend services, but know I'll be having a scotch during the time of service. Here's to you, Diana. You did good.
To Diana , I take full credit for this message. Any mistakes are mine.

Jim & Heather, Maggie & Dave and families
I was devastated to hear of Diana´s passing. I always looked so forward to our phone conversations about politics, Red Pine, family and the people we know and love. Diana was so informed and engaging and kept the wonderful memories of Red Pine, of days passed, alive. She was always so supportive after Jessie died, and was truly a caring and loving Red Pine Mom. I will miss her terribly.
My sincere condolences.
God´s speed my dear Diana.
Much love

I will miss Diana at RPC for sure. I learned so much from this lovely lady's example, grace and shared wisdom. At Trivial Pursuit, I wanted Diana on my team for questions in the sports category. But regardless of the category, she feigned ignorance on many questions and then amazingly, came up with the game winning answer on many occasions including twice last summer. I will miss her a lot My condolences to you Maggie and your family.

So very sorry for your loss. The last time I had a chance to chat with your Mom was at RPC on Labour Day last year. She was as bright and witty as ever, and it was heartwarming to reminisce.
I remember both your wonderful parents, and especially their zeal and pride as they sang their Queen's U song at the sing-alongs.

My condolences Jimmy and Maggie. Your Mom was always smiling and such a presence at camp. So glad to see she attended every year. Her and your Dad were quite a pair, both such positive forces to be reckoned with. As my mom would say "they done good", 2 great kids, lots of grands to love and enjoy. Such great memories. Cherish them all

Such sad news, but what a truly remarkable and unforgettable woman. She was a wonderful storyteller and conversationalist, a proud mom and grandmother, and the always first smiling face I'd see when I drove into camp for Week 4. I will miss her! My sincere condolences to her family.

Maggie and Dave and girls, on behalf of the whole Tench family, I send our sincerest condolences. Diana was one of a kind and our memories of her will be filled with joy. I personally will always remember her in the "chorus line" with my mum, in one of our fantastic productions. Sending hugs and love from one Red Pine family to another.

Our deepest condolences from the Fischl family. The Allan family were pillars of Red Pine Camp and left a plethora of fond memories, and a long line of family committed to camp. I always remember Jimmy and I racing to the waterfront for early morning dips. All the old campers including Diane singing "Here´s to all the campers" with Lou Oosterhoff, Audrey Wilson, Loris Jordan, and the crew to wake the camp from the waterfront at early morning dips. It is sad to see the old guard pass on but their legacy lives on.

How does one begin to write all of the ways someone has touched their lives? Diana was such a presence amongst the pines at Red Pine Camp. She was a grandmother to so many of us. One of the most kind, patient and friendly souls. She was always so happy to ask you how you were and would remember what you said. She made a point to make people feel included. She will be so so missed.

My deepest condolences to the Allan and Williams clans. I will cherish my memories of Di through the years and our most recent discussions on our changing cultural norms. Firey and independent to the end, you always knew where Di stood on an issue. I greatly appreciated that in her.
Love and hugs to all.
