(October 27, 1931 – December 8, 2025) Donald Arthur Carlson passed away peacefully, on December 8, 2025, with his loving wife of 67 years, Betty, by his side. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Betty; and their children: Dennis, Douglas (Kate), John (Dena), and Susan (Rick). Don was a proud grandfather to Kaylin, Jack, Alyse, Tessa, Catie, Matthew, and Bennett, all of whom brought him great joy. A respected builder, Don was the owner of AV Carlson Construction, shaping much of Edmonton's skyline. His leadership extended to numerous organizations, including serving as Chairman of Vencap Equities, President of the Edmonton Eskimos, and member of several boards. He founded the Edmonton Chapter of the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin and later served as Grand Pilier Général of Canada. Don was also an active member of YPO Canada for more than 20 years and later served as Chairman of WPO International. Don shared a love of collecting wine with Betty and they also shared a spirited passion for travel. Yet, no matter where their journeys took them, Don was always happiest returning to his cherished childhood home on Pigeon Lake. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, quick wit, deep devotion to his family, and his incredible generosity. The Carlson family will honour Don's life at a private celebration to be held at his Pigeon Lake home in the summer of 2026. To share photos, memories, and condolences, please visit
