donald fraleigh Obituary
It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the death of Donald (Bo) Fraleigh. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Elsie of almost 69 years; treasured father of Lisa (the late Raymond), Cathy (Tacky), Cindy (John), and Christina (Michel). Dad (Don) died at The Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal in his 92nd year. Don worked for Canadian National (CN) for almost 40 years beginning his career in 1951 in Allandale, ON, as a Fireman on the steam locomotives, moving to Hornepayne, ON, where he became involved in the union. When diesel engines came into service, Don became certified as a Locomotive Engineer. Don held various positions in Labour Relations in Capreol, Toronto and Montreal until his retirement in 1991 as Assistant Vice-President Labour Relations. Don leaves to mourn his grandchildren, who deeply loved and respected him: Heather (Mike), Shanna (Matthew), Christos (Sharon), Maritsa (Shaun), David; Michael (Melissa), Caitlyn (Tim), Erin (Mike), Tara (Anton), Christopher (Katrina); along with 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Don was the loving son of Harry and Mary Ellen Fraleigh and is survived by his sister Mary Ellen. Don was predeceased by his brothers Harry and Doug. Don will be remembered by all who knew him as a man of dignity, integrity, and honesty, and devotion to his wife and family. The family will certainly miss the many stories of his life and work on the railway and his sage advice. Our appreciation to the staff on Floor D9 of the RVH. Since Elsie died of Covid on December 2, 2020, no memorial service was held at that time; therefore, a celebration of the lives of Elsie and Don will be held Sunday, August 4, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at 4275, Sources Boulevard, Dollard-des-Ormeaux (Quebec) H9B 2A6. Donations in Don's memory may be made to The Alzheimer Society.
