GRINDLAY, Donald Kenneth , C.D., S/Sgt. (retired), R.C.A.M.C., Veteran of WWII, retired Ontario Hydro, member of Doric Lodge # 424, A.F. & A.M. and White Oak Chapter # 104, R.A.M.
Passed away peacefully at the Oshawa General Hospital on February 23, 1998, surrounded by his family. Donald is survived by Ruth (nee Houghton), his loving wife of 53 years, his children Raymond and his wife Dawn (of Ottawa), David and his wife Melanie (Yellowknife), Louise and her husband Steve Norman (of New Westminster), Thomas (of Charlottetown) and Charles and his wife Sharon (of Peterborough). Beloved grandfather of Christopher, Samantha, Marie, James, Timothy, Alison, Adam, Ericka, Aaron and Daniel. He is also survived by his sister Anna White (of Toronto) and numerous nieces and nephews in Ontario and the U.K. Donald's passing will leave a void in his large and sometimes boisterous but always loving family. Friends will be received at the Accettone Funeral Home, 384 Finley Ave., Ajax (905-428-9090) on Wednesday, February 25 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Masonic Memorial Service will take place at 8:30 p.m. to which all family and friends are invited. A Chapel Service will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Lung Association or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
