Dr Rosenthal is the reason I am a dermatologist. As a medical student at McMaster I had a chance opportunity to attend his clinic. I remember most his bold enthusiasm, headlamp with magnifier and flashlight, and the many cases we saw. His excitement was infectious, his energy was contagious. I will never forget that first dermatology clinic and I am grateful for the inspiration. My condolences to his family. He was a true leader and a very caring clinician.

Sincere condolences to Dr. Rosenthal's family and friends. I was fortunate to interact with him as a medical trainee at McMaster and was always impressed by his extraordinary clinical acumen which was matched only by his wit and warmth as a teacher. He will be missed

Don was a fantastic clinician based a great deal on history! We were colleagues,
then friends meeting over good meal often in Burlington Golf and Country Club. He was a great teacher, humble, humerus. Don often told us he rarely needed medications... I smile when I read his obituary about him loving red meat! I enjoyed sharing time as meat heads together!!!

Our son was a pediatric patient of Dr Rosenthal. He was wonderful with him. He was friendly, humorous and very reassuring to us at a time when our sons psoriasis was at it´s worst. We were so lucky to have him. A very nice man.

I was one of the first students and graduates of McMaster Medical School - and chose to have many interactions with Dr. Rosenthal - seeing patients in hospital, attending his lectures and working in his office - eventually being trusted by him to see patients on my own. The experience gained has been expanded through a long family practice - I see many drmatological cases - especially if frustrating other physicians. All due to Dr. Rosenthal - who wanted me to go into dermatology - but at the time it would have meant studying in the USA - not my piece of cake.
I will always remember Dr. Rosenthal, think of him and mention him to colleague and patients frequently. I just learned of his passing. He will be missed.

Don Rosenthal was my student advisor starting in 1973. I did a one month elective with him in March, 1976. He worked part-time down the hall from my office at Avenue Medical Centre in Brantford in the early 2000s. He was an amazing teacher and good friend. Kirk Scott

I was fortunate to be taught dermatology by Don Rosenthal. His joie de vivre was infectious and inspiring. So many Mac med school classes selected him as honorary class president! A wonderful man and the doctors´ dermatologist for sure.

My sincerest sympathies to the Rosenthal family.
I was a big fan of Dr Rosenthal, he always had a smile and a kind word.
He also had sharp elbows when we played basketball many years ago!
Dr R will be missed.

Don was an incredible human, my Student Advisor at McMaster Medical School, and my Mentor in Dermatology. He taught with gentle guidance and a phenomenal sense of humour, which was invaluable to his learners. His legacy will live on in all of us who had the great fortune to be his students, colleagues and friends.
