With profound sadness, we mourn the death of our beloved father and grandfather, Donald Steadman, suddenly but not unexpectedly, at home on Monday, September 22, 2025. Born on January 23, 1937, Don was predeceased by Lois, his wife of 48 years. He leaves his children, Catharine, David (Cindy Wilkes), and Stephen; his granddaughter, Sarah; and his dear friend and companion, Joyce Cram. Don was a proud graduate of Allenby School, Lawrence Park Collegiate, Victoria College, and University of Toronto Law, where he was co-editor of the Faculty of Law Review. He practised corporate, commercial, and securities law at Campbell, Godfrey & Lewtas (now Fasken) from 1964 to 2001. Don was pleased to have spent one last summer at his beloved cottage on Hamer Bay, surrounded by family and friends. A memorial gathering will be held on Monday, September 29th, from 1:00 to 3:00 in the afternoon, at Morley Bedford, 159 Eglinton Avenue West, Toronto. Thanks go out to the staff and residents at The Dunfield, where Don found a new community, and to the wonderful caregivers from Home Instead, who provided aid and comfort over the last year. Anyone wishing to make a memorial donation in Don's memory may consider West Parry Sound Health Centre Foundation or a
Charity of Your Choice.
