Dora MACKENZIE Obituary

DORA ROSEALIE MACKENZIE (MacKinnon) Died peacefully on Wednesday, February 21, at the Ottawa Heart Institute after a long courageous battle. She lived the nomadic lifestyle of a soldier's wife organizing the family's new surroundings in Lemgo West Germany, Montreal, Kingston, Calgary, Lahr West Germany, Rome Italy, Calgary,Toronto, Carlisle Pennsylvania, Ottawa, Oromocto, Tegucigalpa Honduras, Toronto, Ottawa,Toronto in that order while carrying on her banking career whenever and whenever it was possible. Dora leaves behind her beloved husband of 51 years, Major General (Ret'd) Lewis MacKenzie; and their daughter, Kimm. Loving sister to brothers, William McKinnon (Barb) of Whitby and Stan MacKinnon (Sherry); and treasured sister, Irene Alldred (Kevin) all of Baysville, Ontario. Sister-in-law to Katheryn (Donald) of Nova Scotia and fondly remembered by nieces and nephews, Brent (Kelly), Sarah Beth, Trudi (Jenn), Scott (Stacey), Christopher (Erin), Patricia, Sandy Chisolm (Cathy),pre-deceased Connie Weinberg(Mike); and many great-nieces and nephews, Spencer, Charlotte, Miles, Nate, Owen, Emma, Matthew, Olivia, Bennett, Simon, Adrianna, Foster, Maria Weinberg, Andrew Chisholm and Leesa Charpentier (Ben). Dora was predeceased by parents, Kenneth and Sarah MacKinnon of Baysville; mother and father-in-law, Shirley and Eugene MacKenzie of Truro, Nova Scotia. A celebration of her life will be held in Baysville, Ontario at the United Church Thomas Hall March 24 at 1:00 p.m. As your expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Lupus foundation of Canada www.lupuscanada.org/waystodonate or a charity of your choice.
