McBEAN, Doris Mary (nee Chisholm)
passed away peacefully at Belmont House, Toronto, on August 31, 2012. Born August 18, 1915 in Toronto to Robert Wilson Chisholm of Toronto and Margaret Jane Cotton of Alliston, ON. Her step- mother, Maude Johnson was from Black Cape, Quebec. Doris was predeceased by her beloved husband Jack McBean, her dear sister Helen Noble and her dear grandson David Gray. Doris (U of T 1939) and Jack, as newlyweds, located in the Swastika/Kirkland Lake ON area, where Doris supported Jack in his mining career (Member Canadian Hall of Fame) and was devoted to her children John (Marnie), Anne (Michael Gray) and Robert (Pam). Nana will be dearly missed by her 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren: John McBean, Catherine McBean, Elizabeth Cloutier (Michael) sons Keegan and Corbin, Scott McBean (Diana) children Connor, Tyler and Danielle, Marianne Wayne (David) son Will, and their mother Barbara Jeffery. Susan Gray (Mike Nazwaski) son Michael, Andrew Gray (Margaret) children Christie, Courtney and Jonathan.Timothy Gray. Laurie McBean (Mickey Obradovich) children Matthew and Gillian, Jennifer Sopchyshyn (Andy) sons Ryan and Nicholas and James McBean (Christine) children Liam and Olivia. Doris also leaves her nieces Susan Ross (Bill) and Judy Andersen (Erik) and nephew Robert McBean (Kimberley). Doris will be fondly remembered for her welcoming 'open-door' policy to all her family and for the little tune she hummed. The family extends special thanks and appreciation to the staff at Belmont House and Eldercare Home Health for their extraordinary support for Nana in recent years. Doris will be remembered by her family at a private memorial.
