SWALES, Dr. Dorothy Newton (Retired Curator Emeritus McGill Herbarium, MacDonald College)
Passed away peacefully in Peterborough on February 26, 2001 one week short of her 100th birthday. Predeceased by her husband Dr. William Swales, her sister Dr. Margaret Newton, her brothers Dr. William Newton, Dr. Robert Newton and Dr. John Newton. Survived by her son Dr. David and his wife Anne, grandsons Dr. Bill, David and Robert (Meredith), Karen Soltan and greatgrandchildren Elizabeth and Joseph. A memorial service at a later date is planned to be held in St. Anne de Bellevue. Expressions of remembrance may be sent to the Macdonald College Library Fund, McGill University.
