Douglas MURRAY Obituary

In Loving Memory of Douglas Harpley Murray (15 August, 1926 - 5 April, 2017)
Born in Toronto to a Salvation Army couple, Douglas (Doug) started his career after the war as reporter and later moved on to thirty years as an executive with MacLaren Advertising receiving an Honorary Degree from the University of Toronto while working the General Motors account. He retired to his home at the Blue Mountains where he enjoyed hobbies skiing, his many Siberian Huskies and continuing to follow his lifelong passion for flying. Doug was a founding member of the Canadian Aerobatic Association of Canada participating in many airshows and competitions and flew the Tiger Moth based in Edenvale Airport. He was also an avid sailor, sailing many years in the Toronto area and around the Caribbean.

Doug will be dearly missed by his wife Dorit, his sons Angus and Robin, his dear Brother and Sister-in-Law, Ian and Teddy Murray, their children, Donny, Heather and Scot, his stepchildren Britt Oldenburg (Max, Anna, Elliot) and Kai Oldenburg, his grandchildren Graeme, Kevan, Robin, David along with Noelle Rebelein and her daughter Maple and newest great-grandson Charles. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army would be appreciated by the family. A celebration of life will be held early in the summer and details will be available with Doug's online Book of Memories at www.fawcettfuneralhomes.com
