Duncan BLEWETT Obituary

BLEWETT, Duncan Bassett
passed away peacefully on February 24, 2007, at Nanaimo Hospital, British Columbia, after two years of loving post stroke care at his home on Gabriola Island anchored by devoted life partner and wife of 35 years June Blewett and friend Rita Howell. Duncan, an athlete, husband, father, UBC graduate, PHD from University of London (UK), WWII veteran, founding chairman of U of S (Regina campus) dept. of Psychology, professor emeritus, pioneer of psychedelic research and pschotronic engineering, author of 'Handbook for the Use of Lysergic Acid Diethylamide- 25:Individual and Group Procedures' and 'The Frontiers of Being', lived his life fabulously in the moment to the end: the joy of his spirit will not be forgotten for many lifetimes by those who knew him well. Survived by June, son John (Dianne, Martha, Mathew, Michael) daughter Mary Lowe (Eric, Erica, Maya, Ryan) stepsons Aaron Cosbey (Jackie, Aven, Cameron) and Timothy Cosbey (Virginia, David) and an extended family of close friends who loved him dearly. The afterlife just got a little lighter. A celebration of his life to be held March 24 on Gabriola.
