E. Peter McDougall, M.D., F.R.C.S.(C)
Past President, Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons and former Chief of Plastic Surgery, St. Michael's Hospital, Toronto; Faculty of Medicine, the University of Toronto.
Peacefully at the family farm in Duntroon, ON. on September 1, 2011 after many fun-filled visits with family and friends.
Born November 22, 1932 in Toronto to Agnes and Donald McDougall. Donald was the first blind Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University and a Professor of History at the University of Toronto. He was a great inspiration to Peter.
Survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Dorothy (nee Burnett) and brother Hugh (Eleanor). Father to Ian (Cathy), Terri (Stewart Hunt), and Kevin (Sandra Hyshka). He will be greatly missed by grandchildren Lauren, Colin, Matthew (Bedforth), Graeme, and Duncan.
Peter grew up in Toronto, attending De La Salle College and the University of Toronto. He graduated from the U of T Medical School, class of '56, where he met many of his lifelong friends. An early member of the Devil's Glen Ski and Mad River Golf Clubs, he passed on a love of the outdoors to his family. Retired to his beloved property near Collingwood in 1998, where he was at his happiest, puttering and honing his carpentry skills.
