EDNA ROBERTSON Obituary
Sue passed away on Monday, November 10, 2025, in her 96th year. Beloved wife of 66 years to the late John (2020). Loving mother of Elizabeth (Edward Andrew), Jane Robertson, and Anne (Duncan Sutherland). Proud Gramma of Clifford (Ash), Byron (Laura), Gareth (Emily), Arlen (Jasmine), and Xan (Madoka); and adored Great-Gramma of Bennett, Emma, Mia, and Oscar. She was predeceased by her parents, Victor and Elizabeth Carnahan. She found great joy in tending her garden and watching birds visiting and splashing in the birdbath. Reading was a lifelong passion, especially sharing this with John in front of the fireplace. Sue was also a sports enthusiast. After discovering badminton in school, she continued playing weekly well into her late eighties. During her time at McMaster University, she served as President of the Women's Student Body. A dedicated community member, Sue contributed her time and energy to many causes, including Brownies, Cadets, and The Heart Saver Program. As an environmental advocate, she found great fulfillment in serving on the committee to protect a historic White Oak tree on Bronte Road in Oakville. Our mother, an inspirational role model, will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts. Sending heartfelt thanks to all the wonderful people who cared for and loved mom. In memory of Sue, a nature lover, donations to the Bruce Trail Conservancy would be sincerely appreciated. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Port Nelson United Church, 3132 South Dr., Burlington. Arrangements entrusted to Smith's Funeral Home, Burlington, 905-632-3333.
