I have had the honour and privilege of knowing Ed Hinchley since we were both graduate students at the University of Waterloo in Electrical Engineering. I knew Ed as a person with great integrity that you could trust would always help you in anyway he could. Throughout his career he fostered innovation and transformative strategies. He dearly loved his family. I cherish the memories of my and Uta´s visit to Ed and Jan´s lovely home in Oakville and having lunch in Toronto. Strong memories of Ed will live on in the minds of all who knew him. May he rest in peace.

I am so sorry to her that Ed has passed away.
I worked with Ed in my first job after graduating from university. I had a great respect for his knowledge and he contributed greatly to my development as an engineer.

Ed was the best manager I could imagine - understanding, extremely fair, results oriented, and brought out the best of all in his team. I had tremendous respect for him. I shall miss him. My condolences to his family.
