Edward LOMAX Obituary
Edward 'Ross' Lomax 1928 - 2023 The great ride, filled with fun, adventure and the inevitable challenges, is now complete. After a long and wonderful life, Ross died peacefully in his own home on June 22, 2023, just shy of his 95th birthday. Predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Betty; left to enjoy his dry wit, long detailed stories of past adventures and an endless assortment of shared memories are children, Cathy Wilson (Scott), Sharon Quevillon (Claude, predeceased) and Tim Lomax (Christine); grandchildren, Brendon, Erin, Matthew, Andrew, Daniel, Hannah and Cam; great-grandchildren, Bennett, Lucas and Evelyn; his brother, Gord Lomax (Mary); and many extended relatives and cherished friends. Devoted husband and family man, loyal friend, skilled tradesman, sportsman (skier, golfer, curler, hockey player), worldwide traveller, history buff, photographer, voracious reader, gardener, joke teller, fixer of anything broken, and a tireless coach to all those professional athletes who somehow never listened as he yelled instruction into the TV. The family wishes to thank Lualhati Hopular (Luo) for her devoted, loving care and companionship to dad over the past few years. You made it possible for him to stay in his home live a full life on his own terms. We are forever thankful. At Ross's request, there will be no funeral, but a celebration of his well-lived life will be held at a later date. If you wish to honour Ross, hoist a beer at 4:00 p.m. (his daily ritual), 'get out and make the most of life - it's over so quickly (his words),' or make donation to the Scott Mission for those not as fortunate as Ross.
