Ted grew up in Milton, lived most his adult life in Etobicoke and his final 3 years at Beechwood Place, an independent senior's residence in Mississauga where he was very happy. He was a Professional Engineer (Electrical) graduating from University of Toronto in 1949. For 42 years, Ted had a satisfying and enjoyable career with Ferranti Packard (subsequently owned by NEI and then Rolls Royce). He was active in the Anglican Church, first at Grace Church in Milton and then at Christ the King in Etobicoke. Ted was a kind, gentle and intelligent man who lived with joy. He liked to read, do the crossword, play guitar, garden and golf. He was knowledgeable about a surprisingly wide variety of things. He had a great sense of humour and an easy laugh. He enjoyed the company of people and had a knack for making people feel comfortable. He liked fine clothes and was particular about his dress, especially a well pressed shirt, a sharp crease in his pants, a clean cotton handkerchief in his pocket and polished shoes. He had a beautiful singing voice and knew just about every song in the Anglican Hymnal as well as 100s of folk songs and ditties from a bygone era. He enjoyed a glass of scotch. He also enjoyed the serenity of a walk in the woods or a paddle on the lake. He loved and was dedicated to his whole entire large family and we to him. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Scott Funeral Home - Mississauga Chapel, 420 Dundas St East, Mississauga, Ontario, L5A 1X5, followed by a reception.
