EILEEN FOX

It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Eileen Fox, announces her passing on August 25, 2025, at the age of 98 in Oakville, Ontario. Predeceased by Karl, her husband of 61 years, she will be deeply missed by her daughters, Karoline Fox (Brian), Kristine Fox, Konstance Allain (Jeff); and her beloved grandchildren, Karly and Blake. She will be forever cherished by her nieces and nephews. Eileen was born in Mount Albert, Ontario. She had one brother, Henry, and the family spent time living in town and on the farm, a life that fostered her strength and resilience. She moved to Toronto as a young woman to work as a nanny and attend business school in the evenings. She thrived on the cultural scene in Toronto, enjoying music, art, and books. She soon began her first career, and she loved her work in the world of business. In Toronto, she met Karl, and they were married on the family farm. Eileen and Karl moved to Oakville in 1963 and spent the rest of their lives there. Eileen began her second career as a devoted homemaker and mother to her three daughters and nurtured her daughters with boundless love, wisdom, and encouragement, instilling in them the values of compassion, resilience, and curiosity. Eileen was deeply involved in the community and made many lifelong friends. She was a devoted member of her church taking on many roles, including leading youth groups, singing in the choir, and as an elder. She was also an avid tennis player, bridge partner, and musician. Eileen was passionate about learning, a lifelong learner who was always ready to take on new challenges and enrol in any class available to her. Eileen will be most remembered for her kindness with a quiet strength, as a gentle and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. The family would like to express special thanks to the Reverend Sean Foster. A family burial has taken place in Mount Albert. A service in Eileen's memory will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 89 Dunn Street, Oakville, Ontario, on Saturday, September 6, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in memory of Eileen Fox.
