Eleanor MORGAN Obituary
ELEANOR FRANCES MORGAN
ELEANOR FRANCES MORGAN PhD ( University of London), MA, BA (University of Toronto) Born Port Hope, September 9, 1927 Died, Toronto, July 29, 2010. Beloved mother of Peter, Martin (Joan Montagnes), Alison (Ian Turnbull) and Katy (James Cook), and dear Granny to Rachel and Lucy Morgan; Jack, Jeremy and Annie Turnbull, and Andrew and Matthew Cook.
Eleanor was a life-long educator and respected teacher at UofT, retiring in her 70s. She loved books, her family, and her cat, Arnie. She had a deep appreciation of the arts, and supported environmental initiatives long before they were popular. Eleanor was raised in Cobourg, Ontario and enjoyed summers at her farm near Warkworth where she bought and restored antiques, and read to her heart's content.
Eleanor was fortunate to be surrounded by excellent neighbours, and a good community. We are grateful for the support of her friend and gardener, Sharon.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 4th at 4pm with a reception to follow at the chapel on the 2nd floor of Victoria College, UofT., 91 Charles St. W.
If desired, donations to Woodsworth College or Victoria University, UofT, would be much appreciated.
