Elisabeth FINCH Obituary
ELISABETH FINCH 1939 - 2022 On Sunday, October 16, Elisabeth Ann Finch passed away peacefully at Sunnybrook Hospital, at the age of 83, with her family close by. Born to Sybil and Hugh Walter ("Jimmy") Bennett of Birmingham, England, Lisa completed her A levels and joined her older sister, Sue, in Canada. She became an Occupational Therapist in Toronto, met her husband, Barry, whom she was married to for 56 years, and raised their twin boys, surrounded by many friends and family from Canada and England. Lisa was an active volunteer at the local Aphasia centre, but her biggest passions were her grandchildren and singing in the Yorkminstrels Show Choir, which brought the joy of music into homes for the elderly. Always patient and kind, she adored her grandchildren, loved her 'Granny dates' with each of them, and took great interest in their sport and extracurricular activities as they grew up. She was deeply loved by her husband, Barry; and sons, David (Tamara) and Steven (Tracey); her grandchildren, Jack, Matthew, Ellie, Norah and Grady; her late sister, Sue (Tony); her sister, Teen (Pete); and her Fleming-Wood niece and nephews, Joanne (Paul), Nick (Kristen) and Simon (Shannon). She was also an accomplished tennis player, bridge partner, skier, and skater. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 7th, 2023, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or the Aphasia Institute.
