ELIZABETH BRIANT Obituary
With sadness, our family wishes to announce the passing of our dear mother and grandmother, Mrs. Elizabeth Dawn Briant. Born in Niagara Falls, Ontario, on May 19, 1925, she passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025, just a few weeks short of her 100th birthday. After marrying an RAF pilot on her twentieth birthday, family was always first and foremost. Full of life and exuberance, always front and centre at any gathering, with glamorous red hats and a personality to match. Dawn's ability to charm anyone or any room lasted to the very end of her life. Her enthusiasm for life and unmatched optimism brought a sparkle to the day of every person she met. As a wife and mother, Dawn raised a family while pursuing her interests. Having established a reputation as a leader in Montreal for découpage, Dawn both taught and sold her pieces at her store in Westmount, resulting in several appearances on television! Her passions included painting, golfing, singing and figure skating. Dawn loved spending summers at her beloved cottage on Dorval Island, watching the birds and the ships go by, where many can attest to the countless evenings of red wine and many, many laughs, not to mention certain hijinks with the other ladies of Dorval Island. Loving wife of Peter Briant (deceased); and mother to Peter, Geoffrey (deceased), Lynda, Rebecca and her husband, Hugh Winters, and Robert and his husband, Brandon Tang. Proud, loving and much-loved Nan to Kegan (Nicki), Holt (Jenn), Chase (Fran), and Blythe (Kenzie) Winters, Jesse Briant, Geoffrey Briant Jr. and Madison, Parker and Dylan Briant-Tang; and great-grandmother to Poppy, Tate, Emmy, Paige, Clarke, Harrison, and Cameron Winters. A Celebration of Life will be held within the next few weeks. Please contact the family for details. "Life is too short to drink bad red wine."
