Elizabeth BURT Obituary

BURT, Elizabeth M. (Betty)
Betty died peacefully at home on April 10, 1999, in her 74th year, after a brief illness. Betty died at home, as was her wish, surrounded by the sounds of her family, from whom she derived so much comfort. Betty was predeceased by her husband, Edwin, and is survived by her children: daughter Leslie (John King) of Grenfell, N.S.W., Australia; daughter Glynnis of Toronto, Ontario; and son Ian (Judy Barr) of Kingston, Ontario. Betty is also survived by her sister and brother, Marjorie Bowman and James (Bud) Holmes, as well as numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and the two grandchildren she loved and who kept her company at home the last few days, Sean and Caitlin King. Betty is also survived by her close friend, Emily Mazzorana, of Rome, Italy. Betty was predeceased by two other siblings, June Lawrence and Garth Holmes. Betty will be greatly missed by all who loved her, perhaps most of all for her strength. A memorial celebrating Betty's life will be held on Saturday, April 17 at 1:00 p.m. at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, Fergus Chapel, 280 St. David St. South, Fergus, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest a donation to the charity of your choice in Betty's memory.
